Commons and Plantations in Scandinavia

This subproject explores practices around wild berry picking and commercial fruit production in Norway and Denmark. Looking at and contrasting foraging and orchard production, I am interested in exploring the very different landscapes of fruit and wild berries as a kind of ‘plantation/anti-plantation figure’, through which to discuss the processing of nature. Overall, the project explores how practices of producing, picking, packaging, transporting, eating, selling and valuating wild berries and produced fruit contribute to generating commons and plantations with particular natural resources.
